Using 2 yarn strands at once and a 9mm hook I used redhead super saver light blue and delft blue
Chain 42
Row 1: sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, dc 3 together, sc in the next 3 ch spaces *repeat to the end* ch 1 turn
Row 2: sc all the way across ch 1 turn
Row 3: sc in the first 3 stitches, dc 3 together, sc in the next 3 stitches *repeat* ch 1 turn
Row 4: sc all the way a cross, ch 1 turn
Repeat rows 1-4 until you reach your desired length, tie off

Single strand of yarn
Round 1: SC all the way around
Round 2: ch 3, skip 1, dc, ch 1, skip 1 *repeat*

Beanie: Using a 5.5mm hook
Round 1:
